Reliance Communications (RCom) launched its 3G services in the hill state earlier this week. “By the end of this week, RCom will commercially offer 3G services to customers in Shimla, Solan, Baddi, Nalagarh, Poanta Sahib, Mandi, Kullu, Palampur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Dalhousie and Una,” said Sami Butt, Circle Head-Wireless Business, RCom, Himachal.
“After Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal is our seventh circle to have this service and all the 13 circles will have this facility by the end of this quarter,” said Butt.
The service will offer video calling, mobile television, video streaming and applications at superfast speeds (up to 21 Mbps). Reliance has partnered with Nokia for devices. Facebook, Nokia and Ericsson for applications and Universal Music for content and MotorCity.net for the web portal.
