Reliance Info sees 12.71% rise in ARPU

Reliance Infocomm has recorded a 12.71 per cent jump in its average revenue per user (ARPU) at Rs 320.39, for the quarter ended December 31, 2004, against Rs 284.25, registered for the previous quarter ended September 30, 2004, according to the data published by the Cellular Operators Association of India.
 
Only two other operators, IDEA and BPL Mobile, posted a growth in ARPU for the period, at 3.03 per cent and 1.08 per cent, respectively.
 
All other telecom majors, Bharti, Hutch, Aircel and Spice witnessed lower ARPU, bringing down the all-India average by 1.42 per cent at Rs 396.41, compared with Rs 402.13.
 
While Bharti's ARPU dropped 4.52 per cent at Rs 413.76, against Rs 433.35, Hutch recorded a decline of 0.80 per cent in its ARPU at Rs 484.08.
 
Aircel's ARPU fell 9.87 per cent at Rs 266.01, compared with Rs 295.12, while Spice registered an ARPU of Rs 289.92, 3.61 per cent lower thab Rs 300.77.
