Riding on the success of an increasing market share in mobile handset segment, Samsung Electronics rolled out its three new dual Sim handsets Star Duos, Guru Dual 25 and Guru Dual 26 in Chandigarh.
Talking to Business Standard on the sidelines of the launch, the Director Mobile and IT of Samsung Electronics, Ranjit Yadav said that with the rapid advancement in the technology, the consumers look for the upgraded handset every two years. Punjab has a concentration of progressive users who have a fair exposure to developed world due to NRI connections. So this is a very significant market for us.
The market share of Samsung according to Yadav stands at 20 per cent in value terms and 17 per cent in volume terms in Punjab that is similar to their national average.
