SatNav Technologies, an IT product-focused company, has entered into a partnership with Israel-based Waze Inc to create SatGuide-Waze application, which will provide personal technology solutions to its users.
Amit Kishore Prasad, founder, managing director and chief executive of SatNav, said, "We have decided to go from just the car map solution provider to the personal tracking solutions provider with personal navigation devices (PND). This partnership will support in giving value-added services to our Indian customers."
The company has entered the personal tracking device segment with its SatGuide child phone and SatGuide tracker. It has also launched free navigation with live traffic updates application.
The free navigation with live traffic updates application would give minute-to-minute updates on traffic and provide information on accidents, police patrols and weather hazards. "Maps and traffic updates are automatically collected and generated as users drive with SatGuide-Waze," he said.
SatGuide child phones with four preset numbers will enable a child to make only calls and not misuse the phone while SatGuide tracker, a matchbox-size device, can track individuals and vehicles.
