The Supreme Court today issued notices on a petition filed by broadcaster ESPN-Star Sports, challenging regulator Trai's order of fixing Rs 5 as the maximum subscription fee a month per pay channel under the new cable TV delivery system - CAS.

It has also challenged Trai's revenue sharing model, which limits channels' share in subscription fee to 45% of Rs 5 while that of Multi System Operator (MSO) is pegged at 30% and of local cable operator at 25%.

A bench headed by Justice S B Sinha issued the notices to Trai, Hathway Cable and Datacom and Indus Ind Media and Communications.
