The third edition of IFSEC, Firex and Internal Security India 2009 exhibition, to be held in New Delhi from October 29, is expected to see the signing of 20-25 manufacturing joint venture (JV) agreements with domestic companies, as against 8 JVs last year. “The JVs, primarily for the manufacture of closed circuit cameras and access control technologies like RFID and biometrics, are expected to be from Israeli, Chinese, Korean and Japanese companies,” Nigel Luke Brown, project director (India), United Business Media (UBM), told mediapersons here on Tuesday. The three-day event would introduce new technologies and devices for the first time in India, Brown said.

“Honeywell will be showcasing at the expo its unmanned flying device, which can fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet, capture photographs of 10 kilometre radius and provide realtime data to the operator immediately. The company is targeting to sell this product to all the state governments. Besides, Dupont will be showcasing its fabric used in manufacturing light-weight bullet-proof jackets,” he said, adding that the fourth edition of the event, to be held in Mumbai, will have light arms like rifles and semi-automatic pistols on display.
