Self-service HR applications take over from HR people

Zensar Technologies, a Pune-based IT services provider, has staff members sprawling across 18 countries, making a paper-based manual review process difficult and time consuming.

This January, the company decided to set up a web-based HR assessment portal, based on a solution from Microsoft. The portal now allows Zensar to offer self-service HR applications to its employees.

 

Self-service HR software enables employees fill their appraisal forms online, track the status of their reviews online instead of sending e-mail queries to the HR staff. It automatically calculates a recommended raise and bonus for the employees.

It facilitates online communication through an employee-manger-HR-employee cycle and allows greater control over the review process. It has eased managers search database for past reviews.

It has also increased employee productivity and helped in creating transparency. The company plans to web-enable three more functions
