Sistema launches CDMA services

Russian telecom giant Sistema is planning to invest over $1.5 billion in the Indian telecom space over the next year.

The company, through Shyam Telelink (STL), its joint venture with India-based Shyam Telecom, set the ball rolling to introduce services in Rajasthan. It formally launched CDMA mobile services in the 800 MHz band on Tuesday under the brand name “Rainbow”.
