Software export targets at Rs 1850 cr

Software exports from Odisha have been targeted at Rs 1850 crore in 2012-13.

The exports by IT (information technology) firms, registered with the Software Technology Park of India (STPI ) and Special Economic Zone ( SEZ) stood at Rs 1611.67 crore in 2011-12 and Rs 1376.88 crore in 2010-11.

IT major Infosys was the biggest exporter from the state, with exports amounting to Rs 1127 crore in 2011-12 compared to its export figure of Rs 1019 crore in 2010-11. Infosys was followed by IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services with Rs 200 crore exports in 2011 -12 up from Rs 123 crore in the previous year.

 

Odisha has ranked 10th in software exports among all the states in 2011-12, while Karnataka continued its numero uno position.

Mahindra Satyam (formerly Satyam Computer Services) exported to the tune of Rs 110 crore in 2011-12 while its software exports stood at Rs 81.52 crore in 2010-11.

Exilant Technologies Pvt Ltd, the fourth biggest software exporter from the state, exported Rs 52.64 crore during 2011-12 as against Rs 48.62 crore in the previous year.

Other software exporting units in the state registered with the STPI include Mindfire Solutions (Rs 31 crore), Nethawk Networks India Pvt Ltd (Rs 25.42 crore), Discoverture Solutions (Rs 9.72 crore), Edusys Services Ltd (Rs 4.99 crore), Mediwrite India Software Solutions Pvt Ltd (Rs 3.81 crore), Processmap Infotech Pvt Ltd (Rs 3.44 crore) and Gennum Technologies India Pvt Ltd (Rs 2.25 crore) to name a few.
