Sonata bags TUI UK contract

Sonata Software Ltd (Sonata), has announced that it has signed up a multi-year outsourcing contract with TUI UK.

As per the contract, Sonata will develop e-business solutions, provide application management services and develop and implement Oracle applications for TUI UK. Sonata will also set up an offshore development centre for TUI UK.

"In this long-term relationship, Sonata is closely involved in the IT-driven business transformation at TUI UK. We are excited by the opportunities and look forward to consolidating our presence in the fast growing European market," B Ramaswamy, president and managing director, Sonata, said.

TUI UK is a part of TUI AG, one of Europe's largest travel groups,which owns brands like Thomson Holidays, Britannia Airways an Hapag-Lloyd Express.

TUI AG is a Euro 13-billion travel organisation and leads the tourism market in Europe.

"We evaluated the top four service providers and selected Sonata because of their deep technical knowledge , which have been evident in  projects they have undertaken for us in the last one-year. Their capabilities and the mutual successes that we have had, position them as the right choice for TUI UK's long-term strategic IT implementation," Keith Newman, IT director, TUI UK, said.
