Ahmedabad-based Source Pro Infotech Pvt Ltd is eyeing the global markets for its Integrated Manufacturing Management Software (IMMS), a software it pioneered for engineering manufacturing industries. |
The company is also planning to launch a nationwide first-of-its-kind internet-based software rental service in a bid to tap the SME market. |
Talking to Business Standard Unmesh Mehta, managing director, Source Pro, said, "We have appointed distributors for our product in Switzerland and Austria to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to the European markets." |
The company's global plans are part of its initiative to target SMEs in India as well as abroad. |
IMMS was launched by Source Pro four years back on the back of growing preference of SMEs to adopt latest resource planning softwares. |
"For engineering companies, conversion from raw material into finished products using a specialised design is crucial and that is why even SMEs, who have traditionally not been cued to trends are beginning to accept latest resource planning softwares," Mehta said. |
IMMS is growing at a rate of 35-40 per cent and the current market offers good opportunities for its further growth. The market for ERP in the year of 2004 was around $85 million globally and is estimated to grow about 25 per cent by 2009, said Rajesh Mehta, director, Source Pro. |
The company's new software rental service, to be called Software As A Service (SaaS), is set to be launched in the coming few months. |
Under the scheme, applicable to SMEs, companies would be offered ERP solutions through the internet for a fixed amount instead of having to purchase the software. |
On the expansion of their company, Mehta said "We have branches in Vadodara and residential units in Mumbai and Pune and are now planning to open branches in other parts of nation as well as in European nations." |
