Spice plans TV-on-mobile

Spice Telecom, one of Karnataka's oldest cellular provider, is planning to soon launch 'TV-on-mobile' service in the state. The service,which was today test launched in Chandigarh, was expected to be launched here shortly.
 
The service was part of Spice' future plans to provide innovative products to its subscribers, Navin Kaul, CEO Spice Telecom, told reporters here today.
 
The new offering would have 12 channel content, an official of Spice Telecom said.
 
The 12 channel content would include some of the national channels, English and Hindi news channels and cartoon network.
 
The pricing for the offering would be Rs 150 per month for a bouquet of 12 channels.A separate pricing package would be worked out for subscribers who wanted just a selected channel, the official said.
 
Hinting that Spice could shortly foray into new circles, Kaul said, "We might have some good news in the coming weeks," but refused to elaborate.
 
On its value-added service and innovative products, he said that Value-added-service accounted for 10 per cent of the firm's revenues which were in the range of Rs 90-95 crore per month.
