Srishti Software Applications Pvt Ltd, a Bangalore-based software engineering and business solutions company, is to install hospital management and information systems (HMIS) in around 10 hospitals in Gujarat.

The state accounts for 20 per cent of the total health tourists in the country, which is expected to grow to two to three million in the next five years.

Srishti through its integrated solutions provides modern healthcare services to hospitals, healthcare institutions and corporates. Through HMIS, the company offers healthcare solutions like patient administration system (PAS), clinical administration system (CAS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP).

"With more health tourists coming to Gujarat, hospitals in the state need to be equipped with HMIS. While Tata Chemicals Hospital, Mithapur, has already initiated installation of these systems, around 10 more hospitals in Gujarat are in the primary stages of installation," said Ajay Sharma, chief executive officer of Srishti Software.

The company sold around 40 installations in the last 18 months and expects to sell 80 more by next year.

Quoting a CII McKenzie report, Sharma said by 2011, the HMIS market in India could grow to about Rs 1,000 crore. Wipro and Australian healthcare solutions companies IBA and TRAK Health are some of the other players active in the segment.
