Sun Direct announces pan-India launch

Sun Direct, a direct-to-home (DTH) service provider, has announced the pan-India launch of its services in Mumbai. Sun Direct has garnered over 1.9 million subscribers since its launch in December 2007 and aims to become one  of the leading players in the DTH space by the end of this fiscal.

Sun DTH offers 200 plus channels, which includes 23 radio channels and video on demand. Sun bouquet has all the most viewed and prominent channels broadcasted in the country.

Sun Direct is a 80:20 joint venture between the Maran family and the Astro Group of Malaysia. Sun Direct is the first one to adopt the advanced MPEG4  technology offering better compression and signal quality and is the first one ready to offer HDTV (High definition) content. Sun Direct offers all customer  premises equipments like the dish and Set Top box free of cost to the customer,  which is a practice followed by DTH platforms across the world.
