US-based Sun Microsystems Inc has identified India for "major investments" in its global mission charter for the financial year 2006. Bangalore, where Sun has its engineering centre, Beijing in China, St. Petersburg in Russia and Prague in Czech Republic would see "major investments" in terms of facility and number of people, Bhaskar Pramanik, managing director of Sun Microsystems India, said today. Sun has invested $150 million in India since 1998, and the expansion would "only accelerate," Pramanuik said. India contributed "significantly" to Sun's global revenues, he added, but declined to mention numbers. |
