Tally Solutions Private Limited, a major player in business accounting and inventory management software, will be entering the North African market shortly.

Addressing mediapersons on Wednesday, Vinod P John, executive vice-president and head (South Asia business), Tally Solutions Private Limited, said, "On an international basis, we have offices in Singapore, London and Dubai. We will be expanding into North Africa in the next few months."

John was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of Tally 8.1, a concurrent multilingual business accounting and management software.

"At present, our software works for unidirectional languages like Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. We are, however, working on making it compatible with bi-directional languages like Arabic for our customers in the Middle East. This should be out in another three months," John said. A software for chemists is also on the cards in the next few weeks.

The company currently has a registered user base of 3.5 lakh. According to John, the company is targeting an addition of two lakh users within a year through Tally 8.1. The software comes in a single-user (Rs 9,000) and multi-user (Rs 22,500) functionality.

Tally 8.1 has transliteration capabilities and the user has the option to use any normal keyboard with language stickers or can install phonetic keyboard drivers.

"We ended the last year with revenues of Rs 200 crore and are targeting to cross the Rs 250-crore mark this year," John said.
