It is raining music apps out there. And these are some of the most popular apps. Hence, one shouldn't be surprised when Airtel's music app Wynk hit its maiden milestone of 100,000 downloads within the first four days of its launch. Let's try to find out what makes Wynk different from other similar apps.
Wynk offers a wide range of Indian and international songs and covers a number of regional languages including Tamil and Punjabi. The app, available for free from Google Play Store, can be accessed on both Android and iOS platforms but not on Windows.
Once downloaded, the window takes you to a wide range of songs under different genres, including regional, new releases, popular, international, top albums, etc. The app enables users to tune into songs online and internet radio. To listen to songs offline, the song has to be downloaded, for which you have to register with Wynk Plus at Rs 99 on Android and Rs 60 on iOS. The first month of use, however, is free.

Moreover, the app provides only a few popular languages and does not cover other popular regional ones.
Wynk comes with an exclusive offer for Airtel customers. They can download unlimited number of songs using the app at just Rs 29 a month. But they cannot exceed 500 songs a month.
The download speed is also not very impressive. Moreover, once you have finished downloading a song, it doesn't automatically figure in your playlist. You have to add it separately. And once a song is added to your playlist, it is difficult to delete it.
