Tata Tele moves TDSAT on Walky order

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tata Teleservices has moved TDSAT against Trai's order asking the Tatas
to withdraw the campaign for its fixed wireless phone (FWP) Walky, which has been positioned by the company as "freedom of mobility at land line rates."

The case will come up for hearing tomorrow. Trai had asked the operator to give a compliance report by January 13.

Meanwhile, Reliance Infocomm, which was also served a directive by Trai to withdraw its campaign Unlimited Cordless, has decided to comply with the order.

"We will comply with the order. We would, however, like to state that ours was not an advertisement, it was a collateral," a Reliance Infocomm spokesperson said.

Trai had issued directives last week to Tata Teleservices and Reliance Infocomm to withdraw objectionable advertisements for FWP services.
