Tata Teleservices has launched Telugu Voice Station "� a voice portal offering more than 1,000 voice clips in the form of ringtones, dialogues, songs, astrological predictions and jokes in local language.
 
The telecom service provider has so far launched these services in English with Hindi content and Tamil language.
 
Addressing the media here on Thursday, Prabhat Pani, chief operating officer, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, Tata Teleservices Ltd, said, "The service is available across all our products. We are looking at a good contribution of revenues from this service."
 
The service is charged on the basis of 10 paise/minute for prepaid users and on the basis of Rs 6/minute for others. While the Tamil portal was launched a month back, the English portal was launched last October.
 
"In Andhra Pradesh, we have 20,000 users a month for the English voice portal," Pani said. Tata Teleservices covers around 230 towns with 475 cell sites in Andhra Pradesh, according to figures as on June 30, 2005.
