Tata Tele to invest Rs 150 cr in Punjab region

Tata Teleservices Ltd will introduce tailor-made solutions for companies, government departments, students, armed forces, etc in Punjab and Chandigarh.
 
The telecom service provider will invest Rs 100-150 crore in the region with a target of reaching one million subscribers by next year.
 
"We are planning to form specialised cells which would carry marketing activity follow-up cases for subscribers and provide composite value-added services according to their requirements," Tata Teleservices COO (Punjab) Subhash Arya said today. He added that the company was focusing on every segment.
 
Tata Teleservices Ltd also plans to enhance its customer base by 50-60 per cent in the current fiscal from the present four lakh. Currently, the company's presence is in 230 towns across Punjab and Chandigarh.
 
"In the next 7-8 months we will be adding 100-120 towns, with an equal number of base transmission tower, as a part of our expansion plan to strengthen coverage infrastructure facilities," said Arya.
 
The telecom service provider is focusing on increasing its reach in rural Punjab. "The need to expand the network, which is currently spread over 650-700 villages, is to match needs of the growing customer," Subhash Arya added.
