Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has completed an ERP implementation at the Cochin Port Trust in a record time of 10 months, according to a company release.

With this, the operational, financials, real estate and human resources assets of Cochin Port have been integrated on a single platform or Integrated Port Information System.

Christened ‘e-thuramugham’ or ePort, the project once fully functional, will provide real-time interface with customs, port users, banks and the port community system of the Indian Ports Association.

The system will provide single window facility to the trade for filing applications, receiving service bills, payments and enquiries, TCS said.

Cochin Port Trust chairman N Ramachandran said CPT would now be enabled and empowered to closely monitor performance, improve operational efficiency and provide higher standards of service to the shipping and export-import community.

TCS has implemented and customised the application software for port operations, SAP ERP, GIS-based real estate management and set up a datacentre along with campus-wide networking at the port. The GIS-based estate management system will enable the Cochin Port to monitor as well maximise returns on their reality holdings, the release added.
