TCS, Tata Tele in Rs 1,000-cr sourcing pact

Tata Teleservices today signed a Rs 1,000-crore outsourcing agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Under the five-year contract, TCS will provide IT infrastructure management to Tata Teleservices and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra.
 
The contract, which also includes management of IT-related activities including implementation, application development and maintenance, comes close on the heels of a $260- million contract TCS bagged from ABN Amro last month.
 
Besides IT-related activities, the contract includes management of data centres, information security management, training end-users on new applications, disaster recovery and business continuity.
 
TCS CMD S Ramadorai said, "The engagement with Tata Teleservices is another sign of the growing importance of the Indian market."
 
"Our partnership with TCS will be a tremendous boost in helping us reach our goal in being number one in customer satisfaction," Tata Tele CEO Darryl Green said in a release.
