Tech fair majors join hands

CeBIT, a union of global digital technology companies which organises industry trade fairs, today announced a strategic partnership with Infocom, India's largest ICT conference and exposition, which is to be held between 6 and 9 December at Kolkata this year.
 
Eberhard Roloff , director for Central and Easter Europe of Deutsche Messe AG said, "The European joint pavilion at Infocom 2006 will help us to access the Indian ICT market. We will be inviting small and medium size enterprises from Europe and especially from Germany and look for co-operation and joint-ventures with Indian companies".
 
Speaking at the occasion of the announcement of the CeBIT-Infocom tie-up, Nasscom president Kiran Karnik, said, "The CeBIT's participation in Infocom-2006 will boost software business to Europe. We will be able increase the share of software export to European market from $ 2.5 billion achieved in 2005-06."
 
ABP Pvt managing director and CEO Pramath Sinha said, "With the theme of, 'Innovate to Differentiate', we have introduced Infrastructure Future Leadership Award (IFLA) to be given to six students from B-schools in India and abroad for best paper on innovation. It award includes a cash prize of $ 1000 and two months internship at three corporate houses in India and abroad".
 
The organiser of Infocom-2006 are expecting 250 exhibitors from all part of the world and get atleast 70 sponsors for the event. The number of visitors are also expected to go up to 1.5 lakh from one lakh previous year.
