Music on the go has almost become a necessity for many of late. And that has called for good headphones, which offer a remarkable audio experience. Most smartphone producers have understood this fact and have been providing a decent pair of earphones with the gadget.
However, that has not ruled out the market for brands that specialise in creating headphones.
Recently, Audio Technica launched the ATH-MSR7. Some headphone enthusiasts told me that the device promises high-resolution audio and a stylish design.

Design
The first thing that one generally seeks in a pair of headphones is the ear cups. The ATH-MSR7's are made of aluminium with silvery edges. On the pivot, you will find a matte black finish and the branding. Made of memory foam, the ear pads are very comfortable. The padded head band allows the gadget to rest well on your head. At 290g, we won't call it heavy.
The alluminim body lends a sturdy feel to the device. While unboxing the ATH-MSR7, we found a carry case and three cables - a plain 1.2-metre cable, another with an iOS- and Android-compatible remote, and a whopping three-metre one. It did make us happy.
Sound quality
Now, the most important part: Sound. The MSR7 manages to give a very balanced sound experience to the user. The bass is rich. The membranes are highly responsive and that lends to a great music experience while you are listening to some soft tracks. The harmonic distortion levels are good, and volume was pleasing. However, songs with too much of hissing vocals can become quite irritating because of the shrill.
Conclusion
The ATH-MSR7 lives up to the hype. Sturdy looks, faithful sound and excellent stereo image. It ticks all the boxes for a good pair of headphones. However, you might have an issue with the pricing, if you are not someone too involved in music. At Rs 14,669 (on Amazon.in), it is a tad expensive for a regular user. But if your budget allows you to go for it, the MSR7 just might be the pair of headphones you were looking for.
