Toonz campus at Kinfra park to come up in two years

The Technopark-based Toonz Animation India will have its campus at the Kinfra Film and Video Park in the city suburbs in a couple of years.
 
Speaking to Business Standard here, Toonz Animation India chief executive officer P Jayakumar said the company was to acquire 10 acres of land at the Kinfra park soon.
 
"We have already received the government order for land acquisition. The Kinfra project of Toonz Animation India is expected to cost Rs 20-25 crore," he said.
 
The Kinfra facility will house the company's operations as well as the animation academy, Asian Film and Media Studies (AFMS).
 
The company is planning to open its second animation school here on a leased space very close to the Technopark campus on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam highway. "We will move to our land at the Kinfra park once the construction is over," he added.
 
It may be recalled that company, which runs the AFMS under the Toonz management, has lined up plans to open animation academies across the country.
 
It already has two animation schools "� one in Thiruvananthapuram and another in Kolkata. The Kolkata academy is a joint venture between Toonz Animation India and the West Bengal Electronics Development Corporation.
 
The company has said it would be more into feature film production in three years.
 
Toonz has also made inroads in to the domestic market with projects like the musical version of Mahabharata and Hanuman.
 
Toonz's client list includes Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount, Disney, and Cartoon Network.
