Toyota is reportedly said to recall1.9 million of its best selling Prius hybrid cars in order to fix software faults in its flagship vehicle.
More than 400 reports have been received by Toyota pertaining to software problems, with most of them coming from Japan and North America.
However, Toyota said that no accidents were reported over the defect and added that in some cases, the hybrid system might shut down and the vehicle would stop while being driven, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, the recall comes weeks after Toyota stopped the sale of certain car models in the U.S. following problems in seat heaters.
