TVS-ICS in JV with Aurgus, Australia

TVS Interconnect Systems (TVS-ICS) has entered into a collaboration with Australian antenna manufacturer Aurgus Technologies is to to manufacture India's first cellular base station antennas.

Aurgus will provide technical support to TVS-ICS to make antennas at the latter's Vallaripatti unit, John Bonello, MD of Aurgus, said today.

The tie-up would significantly bring down costs, saving on freight expenditure and the antennas would come with a one-year warranty, T K Basu, president of TVS-ICS, said.

Initially the unit would rollout 25,000 antennas per year. The company, which started with an initial investment of Rs 7 crore will go up to Rs 50 crore in the next two- three years after the expansion, he added.
