India's seems to have found an ally in the UK even as the backlash in the US is becoming an area of concern.

The UK minister of state for energy and e-commerce, Stephen Timms reaffirmed the UK government 's stated position on offshoring jobs to India, giving it a thumbs up sign.

Speaking at the NASSCOM 2004 summit Timms assured the domestic industry that UK will not use any anti-outsourcing bills or other protectionist measures to kill the offshoring to India.

"The British government recognizes that the outstanding quality of this industry in India can help improve our public services. I can assure you that we will not take any steps like the ones taken by the US government to curb the offshoring of jobs from UK," said Timms.
