India's seems to have found an ally in the UK even as the backlash in the US is becoming an area of concern. |
The UK minister of state for energy and e-commerce, Stephen Timms reaffirmed the UK government 's stated position on offshoring jobs to India, giving it a thumbs up sign. |
Speaking at the NASSCOM 2004 summit Timms assured the domestic industry that UK will not use any anti-outsourcing bills or other protectionist measures to kill the offshoring to India. |
"The British government recognizes that the outstanding quality of this industry in India can help improve our public services. I can assure you that we will not take any steps like the ones taken by the US government to curb the offshoring of jobs from UK," said Timms. |
