The Dell Venue 7 is a no-nonsense tablet. Blessed with powerful features, regal looks and Dell's assurance, the Venue 7 gives you an astute performance. While there are a couple of departments that could have been shored up in the Venue 7, it pretty much checks all the boxes.

Let's focus straight on the Venue 7's highlight feature - it's powerful core. The tab runs on an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, which aids smooth and effortless working. Backed by 2GB RAM, there were hardly any moments when the Venue 7 showed signs of slowing down. Video playback and frequent gaming sessions on the tab were smooth. Display, design & OS
At 315g, the Venue 7 feels light in your hand and easily fits in the pocket. In terms of the tab's looks, Dell has managed to keep it simple yet appealing. The Venue 7 looks classy in pure black and the back side gives a matte finish to the device with the Dell logo bang in the middle, and a Intel Inside logo at the bottom reminding users of Intel's presence. The power/lock key is on the top right, whereas the volume rocker and USB slot are located on the left. Despite in-built storage of 16GB, the Venue 7 comes with the option of expandable memory (upto 32GB) with a microSD card slot on the right. The stereo jack is located on the top while the powerful speaker finds it place at the bottom.

Supporting the Venue 7's entertainment package is a crisp 7-inch (17.7 cm) screen. It has a clear IPS display and comes with a high-definition resolution of 1,280x800 pixels. An integrated Intel HD graphics video card makes viewing on the Venue 7 even better. If you are an entertainment junkie, then Venue 7 will not disappoint you. Any small worries about the device's performance are laid to rest by Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

The Venue 7 is powered by a 4,100 mAh battery. At a full charge, the tab will easily work for a couple of days, though it does take some time to charge.

Camera - the only blemish
Honestly, the rear three-megapixel camera and the front VGA camera left us wanting more. It looked like both the cameras came to life only in decent lighting conditions, so clearly it will be tough for you to yield decent pictures in dark or dull light conditions. Also, when you click, it might seem that the picture is out of focus, but the end result does manage to look fine. The video quality was decent.

So, keeping the camera aside, the Dell Venue 7 is a brilliant option for all you tab lovers. Some of the Venue's models also come with a calling option, which makes it even more feasible. The Venue 7 is priced at Rs 10,999 and with all these specs, it looks like a decent buy.
