Videocon launches first 'satellite controlled' AC

The AC can be controlled using any Android or iOS smartphone

Videocon on Tuesday launched Aryabot, the "world's first satellite controlled AC". Starting price of Aryabot is around Rs 34,000.

"With the launch of Aryabot, the consumer durables brand aims to capture 15% of AC market in the country," said Videocon COO of AC devision Sanjeev Bakshi. He said previous year Videocon had 10% market share in AC sales.

The AC can be controlled using any Android or iOS smartphone, from controlling the temperature to draw a temperature pattern or to switch it on while you are about to reach your home.

A smartwatch can be used to run the AC.
 
Using GPS, the AC can be switched off when one leaves the house or switched on while the user is near the house. More than one smartphone can be connected to the AC.

To reduce power usage a feature called Sleep Graph can be used, where the user can draw the temperature pattern while one sleeps.

Bakshi said that the company aims to sell a total of 6,00,000 units this year. The company has launched 8 models in the Aryabot series. Aryabot series is available within 1 tonnes and 1.5 tonnes, starting at Rs 34,000 for 1 ton AC and Rs 39,000 for 1.5 ton AC with 3 star rating. All the Aryabot AC’s carrry 5 years warranty.
