Ahmedabad-based Virtual Netcomm, the sole value-added distributor in India for Nasdaq-listed Blue Coat Systems of California, is planning to set up operations in Dubai to cater to nearby countries including |
Qatar and Jeddah. Also following its joint venture agreement with SecureOneAsia Pte Ltd. (SOA), the company will now be known as M Virtual Technology instead of the earlier decided M Tech-Virtual India Pvt Ltd (MTIN). |
Company officials said that companies in West Asia, especially around Dubai, prefer the services of technology companies from India owing to reasonable product costs and ability to maintain better network synchronisation with the company's offices in India. |
By the end of this year, four products including those on networking ISPs, enterprise solutions, WAN acceleration and others are likely to be launched by the new company. |
The company presently has a subsidiary in Singapore. "We are presently focussed on providing enterprise content security and application acceleration solutions to Indian and overseas enterprise customers. We have been receiving projects from companies in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, parts of Africa along with Qatar, Jeddah and other countries in West Asia for IT security and optimisation," said Rajendra Shah, MD, M Virtual Technology. |
He also added that following the JV, SOA will be responsible for vendor relations, stock and credit management whereas M Virtual Technology will be responsible for the sales and operations. |
For Blue Coat Systems, the company plans to enter tier 2 cities and add 50 channel partners and 100 reference partners. Blue Coat recently opened its own office in New Delhi and M Virtual Technology has said that it will work jointly with Blue Coat to launch four products in India this year including BlueCoat SG Network and MACH5. |
"Remote users in branch offices often suffer from slow application performance over the WAN. MACH5 acceleration technology, a core part of all Blue Coat SG appliances, uses five essential techniques to speed delivery of internal and externally hosted business applications including encrypted SSL applications to all remote users. Blue Coat SG appliances with MACH5 technology accelerates CIFS traffic, thus improving enterprise application traffic over the WAN, " said Shah. |
Presently, the firm caters to large enterprises, BPOs, banks and Insurance companies. With the upcoming products it will enter the small and medium business market from 2008. It is also planning to hit the capital markets in the next three years. |
