Virtusa Inc., a US-based software development and IT services provider, which has two Advanced Technology Centres (ATC) in Hyderabad has announced plans to expand its operations in India. It will be adding close to 600 people in its new ATC in Chennai. |
The expanded work force is expected to be in place over the next one year. The new ATC is the company's third centre in India and first in Chennai. At present 1,100 of the 1600 global work force of Virtusa are located here. |
The Chennai ATC incorporates state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure that is secure, robust and provides a global collaboration platform that facilitates 24-hour virtual software development using data, VOIP, voice conferencing, video conferencing and multiple fail-over solutions that run over international private leased circuits. This is in keeping with Virtusa's ICT standard for its global ATC's. |
Virtusa chairman and chief executive officer Kris Canekeratne said, "releasing the full potential of its unique Productisation Methodology, Virtusa's service offerings provide clients with immediate reductions in total cost of ownership (TCO) and the ability to create new revenue streams" A release from the company stated that 75 percent of Virtusa's revenue comes from clients that have worked with Virtusa for over 12 months. |
