City based VisionIndia Software Exports Limited, a company engaged in varied e-governance projects now introducing an ICT led initiative to fight female foeticide, where it will not only enable authorities to monitor the use of sonography machines but would also provide them with analytical reports for further action. This was announced by Sunil Umrani, managing director, VisionIndia Software Exports (VISEL) Limited today.
"With an integrated web enabled solution we are attempting to facilitate effective implementation of the same. Our solution consists of an online F – Form reporting system and a special device called Silent Observer", Umrani said.
F – Form is mandatory to be filled for each pregnant woman and submitted to district health authorities for each sonography procedure. This process has been made online with www.letherlivenow.com, whereas Silent Observer is special tamper proof device that is attached to sonography machine to monitor its use. It can help the administration and law enforcement agencies in effective implementation of PC&PNDT Act. The device costs around Rs 40,000.
"Silent Observer is an embedded device specifically designed and implemented to address the gigantic issue of Sex-Selective abortion or Female Foeticide that we face today in our society in urban as well as rural regions. The SIOB records the entire activity of the sonography tests done which could also be used as evidence if needed." explained by Narendra K. Saini, director (Technical). He further explained that it helps doctors in protecting them against any false claims made against them.
The company has implemented this solution in the Buldhana district of the state, where since the past 1 month, over 60 sonography centres are filling and submitting the F-Forms online through www.letherlivenoe.com and very soon Silent Observer shall also be installed at these sonography centers.
