Wipro CTO makes it to global innovation list

Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited, has earned a place in the IN25 `Champions of Innovation' listings, published in the latest issue of BusinessWeek. The IN25 is BusinessWeek's directory of the top champions of innovation, who speak the language of design and user-friendliness, according to an official release issued today.

The company said that Divakaran Mangalath, chief technology officer, Wipro Technologies who made it to the list was also the only Indian to be profiled. The list includes some of the well-known companies worldwide including HP, Google, BMW, Nike and Apple.

According to BusinessWeek, "Wipro, the top Indian IT services provider, has long excelled at incremental innovation. Now the trick is to master the kind of disruptive innovation that will create whole new businesses; what the company calls `Quantum Innovation'. Mangalath is earning great success while leading the charge."

The Wipro Innovation Group is a central body that drives innovations across Wipro. Headed by the chief technology officer, the mandate for the Group is to manage innovations and enable Wipro achieve higher bottomline through successful new initiatives.
