The Mi Band works with devices running on at least Android 4.4 or iOS 7.0 but does not have a display. It counts how many steps you walk and hours you sleep in a day. Well, not perfectly. I shook my arm for a while and the Mi Fit app that records your fitness routine on the phone bumped my step count for the day by 500. The band’s blinking LEDs that alert you about daily walking goals could be missed easily, despite the vibration. On the other hand, it’s completely resistant to dust and can be immersed in water up to a metre (IP67). I washed it for about a minute under tap water. Unlike its competitors, it’s so light and sleek I didn’t even remember I was wearing it and I haven’t charged it once since unboxing (it needs to be charged once a month, says Xiaomi). And it’s only Rs 999. You don’t even ask a question after that.
