Hyderabad-based XL Telecom Limited, which is into telecom and energy, is planning to expand its energy portfolio. It also plans to acquire two to three ethanol manufacturing plants in Maharashtra. |
The company would expand its manufacturing capacity of solar photo voltaic (SPV) from the existing 165 Wp to 210 Wp modules with an annul power generation capacity of 24 Mw per annum. It currently produces 10-12 Mw. XL Telecom Ltd established SPV module manufacturing facility in the year 1995. |
Talking to Business Standard about the company's plans, Dinesh Kumar, managing director, said, "We have already invested Rs 5-6 crore in the SPV set-up and are planning to invest an additional Rs 8 crore." |
He said the company was currently looking at the demand in Germany, Spain, and other parts of Europe in this space. "After this, our next target would be to create a strong presence in the US market," he added. |
XL Telecom also has an ethanol production facility at Nanded in Maharashtra with a capacity of 1.5 lakh litres per day. "Our ethanol plant is doing very well and we are looking forward to expand it. For this purpose, we are planning to acquire two or three plants in Maharashtra," Kumar said. |
XL Telecom Ltd has also partnered with Kyocera to establish an assembly unit for CDMA mobile handsets. "We have supplied over 20 lakh mobile phones and so far have introduced about 15 models. In future, we are going to launch about 3-4 new models between Rs 1,900 and Rs 2,000," Kumar said. |
