City-based XL Telecom & Energy Limited has obtained the US Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Certification for its solar photovoltaic modules. This will enable the company to enter US and Canada markets. UL is an independent product safety certification organisation that has been testing products and writing standards for safety for more than a century.
XL stated in a release that it had decided to enter the US as the latter has been emerging as a major market in the last one year following the introduction of major incentives for solar projects including capital subsidy by federal government.
