Yahoo! India today launched SMS search following Google that had earlier launched this facility. The service, 'oneSearch', will enable mobile users to search for information over their mobile phones.The service is available through major operators including Airtel, Reliance Communications, Vodafone, Idea and Aircel. Users have to SMS their queries to Yahoo's shortcode to make use of the service. "By providing mobile consumers with instant answers for any search query via SMS, we are improving the mobile search experience and expanding our service to reach all mobile users in the country. There are over 208 million mobile users in the country who, on an average, send 8-10 SMSes every day," Manish Dalal, senior director, mobile product, Yahoo! India, said. |
