Zen Mobile aims 7-10% market share, to launch more models

The country's cluttered mobile market's new entrant Zen Mobile plans to launch 3G handsets next month to tap the burgeoning mobile industry.

"We will launch at least two 3G handsets priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,000 in November this year. We will launch more 3G handsets in the future," Zen Mobile's Managing Director Deepesh Gupta told PTI here.

"We are growing fast. Our handsets are more in demand in the market. We hope 3G handsets would help increase our market share," he said.

The Delhi-based handset-maker is targeting a three-fold jump in its market share by end-this fiscal.

"We aim to triple our marketshare to 7-10 per cent from the present 2.5 per cent by FY11," Gupta said, adding the company has already launched 18 models in the market.

 

"We have already launched 18 models in the market and will continue to launch more in the coming days," he said.

 Zen Mobile is eyeing at least a Rs 500 crore revenue from both domestic and overseas markets by end-this fiscal.

"We are targeting at least Rs 500 crore revenue in FY11," he said, adding the company is aiming for at least an 8-10 per cent of its total revenue from overseas markets such as Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The handset-maker is adding more than two lakh customers every month and plans to triple this number by end FY11.
