The Rs 400-crore Zensar Technologies, has tied up with the world's third-largest IT services provider solutions Fujitsu Services to cater to the latter's customers in Europe, West Asia and Africa. |
The Indian company will set up a global delivery centre, comprising 1,000 engineers, in Pune. The deal is expected to increase Zensar's revenues by about Rs 140 crore over the next three years, the company said. |
Zensar, which gets nearly 60 per cent of its revenues from APM services and the around 20 per cent from Enterprise Application services, had posted a 20 per cent jump in its revenues for the first three quarters of FY 06 to Rs 304 crore. |
Under the five-year contract, Zensar will build and operate a dedicated facility for Fujitsu, to be operational this month itself. The Japanese company is also one of the principal share-holders of Zensar. |
Among the services provided by the GDC will be those in application development, maintenance, support, migration and testing of Fujitsu's applications, remote infrastructure management and product engineering. |
The centre will also design enterprise resource planning solutions and provide BPO services for the Japanese companies. The company said that the basic infrastructure for the centre is already in place and has been integrated into the Fujitsu Services network. |
The Zensar-Fujitsu partnership began in 2001 and today takes care of several global customers in the US and UK. Commenting on the latest initiative, Ganesh Natarajan, Dy Chairman and Managing Director of the company, said the new contact signifies a move towards a more "strategic" partnership which takes into account both the technical as well as the financial aspects of the customer company. |
"The key to successful offshore outsourcing now is in providing a long-term solution delivering sustained cost savings, increased quality, and improved customer focus. Our focus is not just great technology, but bottomline business impact through quality and innovation," he said. |
