Zoomin.com, an online digital photo printing company, is planning to open 25 stores retail across the country by the end of 2010. The venture-funded company will also partner with Crossword Bookstores for six shop-in-shops across five metros soon.

To begin with, the company will open eight retail stores by the end of this fiscal. According to Ajay Menon, VP, Corporate & Business Development, Zoomin.com, "We currently have one standalone Zoomin Photo Studio, a franchise owned store, in Mumbai which opened a couple of months back. We will open 6 shop-in-shops across five metros in the next 10 days. We aim to open 25 ZoomIn Stores by the end of this year with an investment of between Rs 2-6 crores. The precise investment will vary based on the format in which we expand our retail network."

The company will open its photo studios at Crossword in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Pune.

While Zoomin gets 80 per cent of its orders from India, 20 per cent of its orders are from overseas . "Our retail initiative is really a bridge to ZoomIn. We are not abandoning online instead are using a bricks and mortar retail channel to bring our photo solutions and services closer to our target audience, and get more people to our online store," Menon adds.

Started in September 2007, Zoomin.com is an online service that enables customers to store, share, and print their digital photos, easily and affordably.

Zoomin allows customers around the world to upload unlimited photos and securely share them for free, with friends and family. Customers can order photo prints or personalize gifts with their favourite photos, a theme and message - delivered to doorsteps in India, the US, UK and Canada.
