ICAI expects to finalise the international networking guidelines for Indian chartered accountant firms this fiscal, its President Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal said on Monday, as efforts continue to have big domestic CA firms that can compete globally.
Currently, there are no guidelines for international networking of Indian CA firms.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which has more than four lakh members, is also working on ways as part of larger efforts to make the country a global accounting and auditing hub.
Agarwal said at a briefing in the national capital that the institute is working on the international networking guidelines as the target is to make Indian CA firms bigger and global.
With respect to aggregation of CA firms, the institute has charted out some strategies and steps have already been taken in this regard.
For instance, if two CA firms are merging, they were earlier not allowed to demerge after five years of the merger. The time period has been .

The initial public offering of Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Ltd received 3.81 times subscription on the first day of share sale on Monday, helped by encouraging investors' participation.
The Rs 500-crore initial share sale received bids for 1,79,22,111 shares, as against 47,04,028 shares on offer, as per NSE data.
Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) part fetched 4.45 times subscription, while the category for non-institutional investors received 4.02 times subscription. The quota for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) got subscribed 2.49 times.
The Initial Public Offering (IPO) has a fresh issue of up to Rs 250 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of up to Rs 250 crore.

The country's nano urea requirement for the ongoing 2024-25 rabi season is estimated at 2.36 crore bottles of 500 ml each, with Uttar Pradesh leading the demand, government data shows.
The maximum requirement is from Uttar Pradesh at 43.38 lakh bottles, followed by Maharashtra (34.7 lakh bottles) and Punjab (20.82 lakh bottles).
Haryana and Karnataka are estimated to require 17.35 lakh bottles each, while Rajasthan needs 15.01 lakh bottles and Madhya Pradesh 12.54 lakh bottles for this season.
However, no requirement has been reported from Gujarat, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Chandigarh, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, and Andaman & Nicobar.
The country currently has six operational nano urea plants with a combined annual capacity of 27.22 crore bottles.

Govt may rationalise urea price, disincentivise chemical fertilisers

India's largest telecom operator Reliance Jio lost 37.6 lakh wireless subscribers in October but spruced up its active mobile subscriber base by adding 38.47 lakh users, as per monthly data released by telecom regulator Trai on Monday.
Overall, Bharti Airtel added 19.28 lakh users to its wireless coffers during the month and its active subscriber gains were about 27.23 lakh for October.
Vodafone Idea lost 19.77 lakh wireless subscribers and its active subscriber base fell nearly 7.23 lakh users.
Overall, so far as headline numbers are concerned, Reliance Jio's total wireless tally slipped to 46 crore in October down from about 46.37 crore in September, although its active user base (a key monitorable for telcos) strengthened.
The total wireless user base of Vodafone Idea fell to 21.04 crore in October from 21.24 crore in the previous month.
In all, the total number of active wireless subscribers in the month under review was 1,066.67 million (106.6 crore), as per Trai's sectoral .

Then in 2017, according to the information provided in its website, to tackle the growing number of cybercrimes, another cybercrime police station came up in the premises of the Police Commissioner's office in Bengaluru.
Eventually, the city got eight such police stations  nine, if we include the Bengaluru Rural as well  to register and investigate cases related to not only cybercrimes, but also economic and narcotic offences. They are called CEN (Cybercrimes, Economic and Narcotics Offences) Police Stations.
