India's key property market Delhi-NCR has remained buoyant during the December quarter, with housing sales and new supply estimated to rise 25 per cent and 59 per cent, respectively, according to PropEquity.
Real estate data analytic firm PropEquity data shows that housing sales in Delhi-NCR are likely to rise to 12,915 units during the October-December period of this calendar year from 10,354 units in the year-ago period.
New supply in Delhi-NCR is set to increase 59 per cent to 11,223 units in the current December quarter from 7,072 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Among nine major cities across India, Delhi-NCR is the only market where sales and new supply are estimated to rise during the current quarter, real estate data analytics firm PropEquity's data showed.
The other eight markets -- Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane -- are likely to witness a fall in sales and new supply during this quarter.

Women's Under-19 Asia Cup

Akasa Air is in continuous discussions with Boeing on aircraft deliveries and expects to add a few more planes to its fleet in the current fiscal ending March 2025, the airline's chief Vinay Dube has said.
The carrier, which started flying in August 2022, currently has a fleet of 26 Boeing 737 MAX planes and 200 aircraft are on order.
In a recent interview to PTI, Dube said that 2024 has been a good year for the airline and will continue to build on it in 2025.
"On the service excellence we have provided, I think consumers look at Akasa as being a kind and gentler airline, little more empathetic. We will continue to treat our travellers in a kind, gentle manner," he said and added that the airline also continues to make sure its employees feel loved and respected.
Earlier this month, some pilots flagged concerns about alleged training and safety issues, and the airline had rejected them as baseless and untrue.

After two weeks of buying, FPIs turned net sellers in Indian equities this week, with a net withdrawal of Rs 976 crore amid a strengthening US dollar and steady rise in US 10-year bond yields, impacting investor sentiment.
Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) began the week on a positive note, investing Rs 3,126 crore in equities during the first two trading sessions (December 16-20).
However, the trend reversed in the latter half of the week, with FPIs offloading equities worth over Rs 4,102 crore in the subsequent three sessions. This resulted in an overall net outflow of Rs 976 crore during the week, data from National Securities Depository Limited showed.
Despite this short-term reversal, the broader December trend remains positive. FPIs have infused Rs 21,789 crore into Indian equities so far this month, reflecting continued confidence in India's economic growth potential and its resilient markets.

The accumulated losses of state public sector enterprises (PSEs) rose from Rs 3,953.70 crore in 2020-21 to Rs 4,778.70 crore in 2022-23, while the profit earned by 13 SPSEs stood at Rs 20.21 crore as on September 30, 2023, according to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on finances tabled in the Assembly on Saturday.

Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh on Thursday dismissed the impeachment notice given by the opposition seeking the removal of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar while ruling it as an act of impropriety, being severely flawed and drawn in haste to mar his reputation, sources said.
In his ruling, which was tabled in the House by Rajya Sabha secretary general P C Mody, the deputy chairman said the impeachment notice is part of a design to denigrate the nation's constitutional institutions and malign the incumbent Vice President, the sources said.
At least 60 opposition members had signed the notice for removal of Dhankhar from his post on December 10, alleging that they did not have trust in him and that he was  "biased".
