Chhattisgarh chief minister welcomes Union Budget

Raman Singh said that the the proposals were indication of good days ahead

Asserting that the Union Budget 2014 would strengthen the country’s economy, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said that the proposals were indication of good days ahead.
 
Reacting to the first budget of the Narendra Modi government presented in the Lok Sabha by finance minister Arun Jaitley Thursday, Singh said the general budget had protected the interest of all sections of the society. “The budget would give new stimulus to the Indian economy that would start a new era of development in the country,” he said.
 
Singh said the schemes and proposals in the budget were also an indication that the Narendra Modi government had started the exercise to take action on the commitment the party had made in its election manifesto. “The relaxation in the income tax was a big sop announced as common man was waiting for it for long time,” he added.
 
 
Chhattisgarh chief minister thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister for announcing Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for Chhattisgarh.
 
Singh said the announcement of increasing royalty on mineral resources and encouraging investment in the mining sector would help Chhattisgarh as the state had been endowed with rich minerals. He added that many schemes announced in the budget would help Chhattisgarh.
