India’s current climate policies are projected to reduce CO2 emissions by almost 4 billion tonnes between 2020 and 2030, equivalent to nearly 1.6 times the European Union’s CO2 emissions in 2023. However, the developed countries have adopted a much slower approach to emissions reduction, which may see a further downtrend with the US likely to cut down its target under a new Trump administration. Arunabha Ghosh, CEO of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, a leading global think tank based out of New Delhi, spoke with S Dinakar on a range of climate-related issues ahead of the annual UN climate
