Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Wednesday reported 29 per cent increase in sales at 29,529 units in December 2024 as compared to 22,867 units in the same month a year ago.
The company sold 24,887 units in the domestic market and exported 4,642 units last month, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said in a statement.
The company said it recorded its best-ever calendar year sales in 2024 at 3,26,329 units. This was higher by 40 per cent as compared to 2,33,346 units sold in 2023.
"The SUV and MPV segments being key contributors grew at 20 per cent over the same period last year. We are also observing a growing shift of consumer preferences towards vehicles offering sustainability, value proposition of dependability quotient, enhanced safety and better resale value which is boosting our sales," TKM Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Sabari Manohar said.
On the outlook, he said,"Given the existing trend, we are confident of further consolidating our market position thus playing a larger role in driving sustainable mobility along with globalising India's automobile manufacturing base. Kia India sales up 6% in 2024 at 2,55,038 units
Automaker Kia India on Wednesday reported a 6 per cent rise in total sales at 2,55,038 units in 2024 compared to the previous year, recording its highest-ever annual sales.
The company had sold 2,40,919 units in 2023, Kia India said in a statement.
Kia India Senior Vice-President and Head of Sales and Marketing Hardeep Singh Brar said, "2024 has been a defining one for Kia India. Our focus on ensuring the timely delivery of our vehicles has not only allowed customers to enjoy their favourite Kia models but also strengthened our foundation for future growth."
On the outlook, he said, "As we move into 2025, we are excited about the upcoming launch of the Syros, which promises to redefine the Indian automotive landscape. With this, we will set new industry benchmarks and reinforce our leadership position in the market.
VECV sales up 3.7% at 8,324 units in Dec
Eicher Motors Ltd on Wednesday said its arm VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd posted a 3.7 per cent rise in total sales at 8,324 units in December 2024 as compared to the same month previous year.
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture of the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 8,026 units in December 2023, Eicher Motors said in a regulatory filing
December 2024 sales included 8,035 units of the Eicher brand and 289 units of the Volvo brand, it added.
In the domestic commercial vehicles market, Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded sales of 7,545 units last month as compared to 7,468 units in December 2023, up 1 per cent.
Exports of Eicher branded trucks and buses were up 52.6 per cent at 490 units as compared to 321 units in December 2023, it added.
Nissan Motor India sales up 51.42% at 11,676 units in Dec
Nissan Motor India on Wednesday reported 51.42 per cent jump in total wholesales at 11,676 units in December 2024 as compared to the year-ago month.
The company had posted total wholesales of 7,711 units in December 2023.
Domestic sales were at 2,118 units last month as compared to 2,150 units in the year-ago period.
Exports in December 2024 stood at 9,558 units as against 5,561 units in the same month a year ago, up 72 per cent, Nissan Motor India said in a statement.
For calendar year 2024, the company said it registered 91,184 units.
"The year 2024 marked a transformative phase for Nissan in India as we embarked on the turnaround and introduced new models like the 4th generation Nissan X-TRAIL and the new Nissan Magnite," Nissan Motor India Managing Director, Saurabh Vatsa said.
On the outlook, he said,"We remain committed to our dealers, partners and stakeholders in India and are focused on delivering the India turnaround plan. We are optimistic about building on this momentum to deliver even more value to our customers in the year ahead.
