Aarti Industries Ltd - a supplier of chemicals to dyes, pigments, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals & rubber industries – plans to demerge its pharmaceutical and home & personal care segments into a separate entities. The company aims to start the demerger process in FY17.
“The board of directors directed the company to study and plan to initiate the statutory process for demerger of pharmaceutical segment and home & personal care segments into separate legal entities in early FY17 and target to complete the entire statutory formalities and approvals by end FY17. The “board, had earlier, in its meeting on September 22, 2014 had in-principle agreed for the said demerger. This demerger, would benefit the shareholders to unlock its value across various segments of the company,” said Aarti Industries in a BSE filing on November 5, 2015.
Meanwhile, Aarti Industries has commissioned its expanded nitro chloro benzene (NCB) facility having production capacity of 75,000 metric tonnes (MT). With this commissioning, the company has increased nitro chloro benzene capacity from 57,000 MT to 75000 MT. This expansion will enable Aarti Industries to increase its volume in high growth end user applications such as polymer, agro and specialty chemicals, according to the company.
