Asian Paints to set up greenfield plant in Indonesia

Berger International, the company's Singapore-based unit, has filed an application for investment approval with Indonesian regulatory authorities

Berger International Limited (BIL), the Singapore-based subsidiary of Asian Paints (International) Limited (APIL), is planning to set up a manufacturing plant in Indonesia. Berger International has filed an application on August 22, 2014 for investment approval with the regulatory authorities at Jakarta, Indonesia, said Asian Paints in a BSE filing. The new facility is part of Asian Paints’ strategy for a greenfield foray into Indonesia, one of the fast-growing paints markets in the Asean region. This greenfield venture is subject to necessary statutory and other approvals.
