CII to organise specialty chemicals seminar in Mumbai
The September 13, 2013 seminar will focus on challenges and opportunities in the specialty chemical sector

With this background, CII National Committee on Chemicals commissioned a study on ten key materials which have wide applicability and not competitively available. The study has recommendations for the industry as well as Government to ensure that the industry attracts investment and grows to realise its true potential. Evolution of consumption standards is a significant aspect that had been highlighted by the CII McKinsey report, titled ‘Building a global scale speciality chemicals’, as key to the growth of the speciality chemical industry in India.
CII’s seminar will provide domestic manufacturers a view of the enormous potential for manufacturing feedstock thereby helping them in taking positive business decisions and give the user’s perspective of the growth of the specialty chemicals industry. It will also deliberate upon evolving consumption standards through use of flame retardants and lead-free and low-VOC paints.
