A fire broke out at Deepak Nitrite Ltd’s manufacturing facility in Roha (Maharashtra) at around 2 AM today. Fire broke out at one of the distillation columns of the facility. This has resulted into temporary stoppage of production of one of the intermediates.
“The fire was brought under control promptly with the help from Roha fire department, MARG and Reliance Industries. The company is thankful to them for their timely help. There was no major injury caused due to the fire except minor injury caused to two persons, who have been treated and are fine,” said Deepak Nitrite in a BSE filing.
According to the company, the incident is not expected to have any material impact on its performance.
Deepak Nitrite’s Roha facility is a multispecialty site specialising in pilot plants and scaling up activities for nitration & specialty agrochemicals. The facility, which contributed about 9 percent of revenues in FY15, produces dyes & specialty chemicals and a range of intermediates for its agrochemical portfolio.
